Before you press Solo
Find a place where you can hear a short reference sound clearly and speak comfortably. Check that Background Music and Sound Effects are set how you like them in Settings. Close another app if it is already using the microphone.
Give Android permission to record
Mimic Voice asks for microphone permission because a round needs your recorded impression. If you declined, allow it in Android’s app permissions. You do not need to reinstall the game. A permanently denied permission must be changed in Android Settings.
Listen for the shape of the sound
Pay attention to its start, rhythm and ending. Wait until after the countdown to imitate it. The recording window follows the reference duration, so an impression that starts too early can lose its opening.
Keep the reference out of your recording
Loud playback near a microphone can leak into your attempt. Headphones and a lower speaker volume can help. Bluetooth and apps such as Discord may affect microphone routing differently on each device; test your setup before a group game.
Use the reveal to choose your next attempt
The score is an entertainment comparison with the reference, not an assessment of your speaking voice. If the recording sounded quiet or clipped, check your setup before trying another round. Visit player support if recording repeatedly fails.
